N.S.S. Camp and Educational Trips

The college has been organizing NSS camp every year since its commencement in 2005and boasts of providing concrete and substantial experiences to its teacher trainees through the number of constructive activities which have been successful in creating social consciousness among them.

Objectives of the Practice

Main Objective - To develop the feeling of “NOT ME, BUT YOU”- the main motto of NSS camp. The other objectives are:

To mobilize the youth for the progress, development and general wellbeing of the rural communities especially the weaker sections of the society
To inculcate healthy and good habits among the youth and to infuse in them the spirit of national service and patriotism.
To strive for creating an awareness among the rural folk about the general problems of development and the need for an initiative on their part to tackle the same.

To work with the people around the educational campuses creatively and constructively, and to put the education they need to concrete social purpose.

Future plans of the NSS camp:

Eye checkup camp
To motivate the public and teacher trainees for eye donation
To establish link with Punarjot Sanstha (eye donation)
Intensive work on Drug Addiction, a deadly evil sharply at rise in Punjab
Efforts and programmes for exceptional children
Visit to old age homes and render useful services to them
To conduct different programs on various current issues like Save Water, Save Electricity, Preserve Natural Resources, Save Ozone Layer, Save Planet Earth, Respect your City.

It is a matter of honour for the institution as its Programme Officer, Mrs. Harjeet Kaur and the student volunteer, Ms. Paramjeet Kaur, have been awarded as Best Programme Officer and Best Volunteer respectively by NSS department, Punjabi University, Patiala for their exemplary work in fulfilling the objectives of NSS.
